Avengers unite! Disney’s new Avengers Campus is open.

The new area, located in Disneyland’s California Adventure theme park, replaces A Bug’s Land and includes the existing Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission: Breakout Ride on the edge of Hollywood Land.

The Avengers Campus, which opened on Friday, features a new Spider-Man attraction, a restaurant called Pym Test Kitchen, and a portal to the Doctor Strange sanctuary.

At its center is the Avengers grounds, home of Marvel’s most powerful heroes. On the launch pad on the roof is a true-to-scale Quinjet that lights up and turns its engines for the guests.

This new section of California Adventure was originally scheduled to open in July 2020, but California theme parks have closed and the launch has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Both Disney parks were able to reopen in April.

“We have the ultimate playground for Marvel,” Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, told CNBC in early April. “As fast as Kevin [Feige] and that the Marvel team can create characters and stories, we can incorporate them. “

In addition to the “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout” ride, the Avengers Campus also offers a Spider-Man ride called the Web Slingers.

The attraction takes place at the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, also known as WEB Headquarters, a company that helps bring superpowers to ordinary people. The attraction offers guests the opportunity to test a new vehicle that its young scientists have developed. When driving the vehicle, little spider bots are released and the drivers have to snap them with their new net-throwing forces.

Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure is a new ride in Disneyland that gives superhero recruits the same web sling skills as Peter Parker.

Throughout the day, visitors can see their Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man hanging around the WEB building.

Disney’s imagineers have developed a robot that can swing and spin through the air during stunts. This figure is wearing a Spider-Man suit and can see acrobatics in the air at a height of 18 meters above the roof of the WEB building. After these performances, a Spider-Man actor will swing down from the building to meet with the guests.

Avengers Campus guests can meet Spider-Man outside of the WEB headquarters.

The main dining area on Avengers Campus is called Pym’s Test Kitchen. Here, scientists working with Ant-Man and the Wasp are using their growing and shrinking technology to create innovative foods.

Guests can enjoy chicken sandwiches with massive chicken patties, spaghetti and meatballs with a large meatball and soft head-sized pretzels.

There are two food carts. The first is Shawarma Palace, a nod to the iconic mid-credits scene from “The Avengers”.

The other is called Terran Treats. Located near the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, this booth features items that play with traditional human food. Circular rainbow churros and bright purple cream puffs are just a few of the delicacies available.

Character meet-and-greets are another big part of the Avengers campus. Thor, Black Panther, Black Widow, and more will be roaming the country – visitors can get a glimpse of the trickster Loki too.

Guests can meet the Master of Mystic Arts in person if they venture deep into the Avengers campus. From time to time Doctor Strange steps through an interdimensional portal to amaze guests with illusions, sorcery and stories that amaze from his collection of mysterious relics.

Different Marvel characters will be lined up in different areas of the campus. For example, Doctor Strange can be found near the sanctuary, while Spider-Man can be spotted at the WEB building. Other characters like Black Widow, Black Panther, and Captain America will be stationed near the main Avengers building, and Ant-Man and the Wasp will show up near Pym’s test kitchen.

The Dora Milaje, personal bodyguards and royal security of the Black Panther, will also be present on campus, as will the mighty Thor. As more characters are introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they will likely be added to the group.
