Stormy Daniels says she would “love nothing” more than shooting Donald Trump one more time.
Daniels, the porn star who says she had a one-night stand with Trump more than a decade ago, stated Monday that she was ready, willing, and eager to testify before a grand jury in Manhattan representing the former president investigated for possible crimes.
But so far, Daniels said on CNN, prosecutors have not called to ask them to appear before the grand jury and reveal the hush money they received from Trump’s then personal lawyer Michael Cohen to give them shortly before the 2016 election to silence.
This US $ 130,000 payment, as well as a payment to Playboy model Karen McDougal, are being eyed by the Manhattan prosecutor’s office in their criminal investigation into Trump.
DA Cyrus Vance Jr.’s prosecution is using the grand jury to obtain testimony on the case. The grand jury has the power to bring charges if they discover criminal behavior.
“I would tell you everything I know. I would tell them I was approached, ”Daniels said on CNN.
“I would tell them I have evidence that the money came from an account set up by Donald Trump or on orders from Donald Trump,” she said.
Daniels said that her attorney, Clark Brewster, “was in contact with the district attorney” and “was very accommodating with my willingness to participate.”
The adult film actress also said she had meetings with prosecutors “about other issues”.
“I haven’t been called to testify yet, but I’ve been very accommodating from the start that I love nothing more than my day in court giving a testimony and all the evidence you need from me,” Daniels said.
“You know, I have all of the original forms and emails and referral logs and all that stuff, and I’m happy to hand it over to – anyone who needs it, honestly.”
Trump has denied having sex with Daniels or McDougal, who said she had a lengthy affair with him when he was married to his current wife, Melania.
Despite his rejection, Trump and his company, the Trump Organization, refunded Cohen his payment to Daniels. One question for the prosecution’s investigation is how the Trump Organization booked the refund to Cohen.
Cohen pleaded guilty to several crimes in 2018, including campaign finance violations related to easing payments to Daniels and McDougal, who was paid $ 150,000 by the Trump-friendly editor of the supermarket newspaper The National Enquirer. Cohen said he paid Daniels at Trump’s behest.
Cohen has been working with the Manhattan Attorney’s investigation.
Records revealed last week show that the company that bought the Enquirer agreed to pay for the federal election Engage more than $ 187,500 in deal with McDougal, which violated a law prohibiting companies from making donations in kind to federal campaigns.
But the FEC has refused to sanction Trump for making payments to McDougal or Daniels.
“Trump orchestrated this whole thing in the lead, and so far it has run,” said Paul S. Ryan, Common Cause’s vice president of policy and litigation last week. Common Cause filed the complaint that led to the FEC action.
“Everyone who did their dirty work here, Cohen and AMI, paid fines and was in jail,” said Ryan.
Hours before Daniels spoke to CNN, Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg refused to answer questions from NBC News about whether he was cooperating with the Manhattan prosecutor or whether he was feeling pressure from prosecutors or Trump in connection with the investigation.
In recent months, the public prosecutor’s office has focused its investigations on Weißelberg and his two adult sons. One of Weisselberg’s sons works for the Trump Organization, the other for a lender who has granted loans to the company.
“No comment,” said Weißelberg again and again in front of his residence in Manhattan.
ABC News reported late last week that longtime Trump organization controller Jeffrey McConney testified before the grand jury. McConney, a senior vice president, is the first Trump Organization employee to testify before the panel.
